Methacrylates is the most versatile when bonding metals or dissimilar materials. Methol methacrylates (MMA) once cured gives an incredibly strong and durable joint and in certain scenarios a structural joint can be achieved. There are many factors that can affect the ultimate strength of a joint i.e surface area, bond line, and surface preparation. The strongest bonding tape is a foamed acrylic creating a double sided tape that will enable you to bond metals and many other materials. This bonding tape is also capable of bonding LSE (Low surface energy) materials such as powder coated metals and some difficult to bond plastics.
Metal Bonding tapes are ideal for a very strong and durable bond with the advantage of being cleanly applied rather than an adhesive.
Clear / transparent gel tape work best with unfinished metals whilst Double sided grey foam tape works best with coated metals. Metal adhesives offer both types of these metal bonding tapes.
