Our IPA cleaner degreaser is 99.8% pure isopropyl alcohol and should be used in the preparation of surfaces and substrates prior to bonding.
This product can be used on metals, most plastics and elastomers and contains no CFC’s, HCFSs or ODPSs.
When used with the recommended micro lint free cloth it is a highly effective cleaning agent, capable of removing all types of residues, oxides, oils and contaminants which can prevent a strong bond.
This is why surface preparation is so important.
Even brand new manufactured parts carry a degree of contaminant this can be caused by simply handling the parts by skin contact.

When bonding aluminium, steel and many other metals it is always essential to clean and degrease your components.
Use a clean dry cloth – we recommend Lint Free Cloth available with the Kit and an IPA cleaner/degreaser. This will remove any contamination or dirt that may be on the components.
Apply the degreaser to the cloth wiping in one direction to remove the contamination. Apply in this way to both your components and your panels to ensure all are completely degreased and all dirt removed.
Leave the degreaser to flash off (evaporate)
Note: It will leave no residue and the surface will be dry
Then apply the required structural adhesives or tapes to your application.
